Behind the scenes[]
A state gesamtschule, found in some parts of Germany, is a nonselective secondary school for children between the ages of about 10 to 16 (5th to 10th grade) offering multiple educational tracks. It roughly corresponds in this way to what is known as a comprehensive school in the U.K. or a public high school in the U.S. or Canada. Graduates of a gesamtschule may continue on to vocational training, apprenticeship, or college-preparatory continuation classes until the age of 18 or 19.

According to FilmTourismus.de, Reise Reporter, and other sources, scenes featuring the exterior of the school are filmed at the Reinfelder Schule in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf neighborhood of Berlin.
