Daniel Kahnwald is Winden's chief of police in 1953. He is Egon Tiedemann's superior and the father of Ines Kahnwald.

Daniel is in charge of the investigation after the bodies of two strangely dressed and disfigured boys (probably Erik and Yasin[1]) are found in a pile of sand at the construction site of the Winden Nuclear Power Plant.
